In the table, the left column is the deadline for receipt of mask design files for the series of partner blocks that are listed in the right column along with, in parentheses, the number of LUCI1 masks that will be available to each partner during their respective block. The partner may request more masks, but these are the number of guaranteed slots available for that partner in the cabinet. If one of the partners does not use their quota for that month, lower priority masks from other partners can be installed. Requests and quotas of MODS masks are similar but we have more flexibility as to when we install these in the instrument.
PIs should send their mask design files to their respective partner coordinator. Partner coordinators should send the set of mask design files to LBTO (slitmasks@lbto.org) by the deadlines in the table. The deadlines are set to allow time to review the design files, for the masks to be cut at URIC (University Research Instrumentation Center), to be transported to the mountain and for the LUCI masks to be installed in the cassette and cooled.
Reminders will be emailed to the partner coordinators 3 weeks and 1 week in advance of these mask submission deadlines.
